StaffDalit Miller Veterinary nurse Hi, I am Dalit, I have been working at the Pointer Clinic since 1986 and have worked my way up to become head nurse. I moved to Spain with my family when I was 16 from Brighton in the UK. I studied business management and beauty and worked as a beautician for four years until I decided that pimpled faces and ugly feet were not for me. I then applied fir the trainee position at the Pointer Clinic and have not looked back since. I have great fun working here, we have a great team, have learned a huge amount in the 11 years here so far. I have Axel the dog and Annie the cat both of whom were rescue cases. My love in life, apart from the animals of course, is to travel and explore which I try to do as much as possible. Melinda Gunzel Receptionist, veterinary nurse I am Melinda Gunzel, born in Gotland, Sweden. I moved to Spain 12 years ago and worked with horses, chiropractic and also barwork. Have started at the Pointer clinic about 4 years ago. Currently I have 2 horses and a fat old English Sheepdog. My hobbies are horses and travelling. Fiona Redfern Groomer, receptionist I´m Fiona, originally from Shefflied, good old Yorkshire in England. Did media at the university, then numerous jobs nowhere related to media! as holiday rep, at a bank, in a hotel, etc and then decided if that rich man wasn´t going to come along and keep me in the manner I am accustomed to, and if I had to work for a living and not be a Lady of Leisure, then I had to find a job that I really enjoyed. So I became a veterinary nurse in the UK, studied hard and qualified in 2000, went to work for Pedigree Masterfoods involved in the research of dogfood. I moven to Spain with my family 3 years ago, I now live near Sabanillas with my terrier Coco and my 2 spanish streetcats: Hugo and Moe. (I seem to have a soft spot for taking in cats with problems with their legs - please don't give me anymore! In Spain I worked at AAA for 7 months before I couldn't handle it anymore, far too upsetting, but nice to see needy dogs go to homes. Then I worked as a veterinary nurse at a clinic in Estepona and then finally made my move to the Pointer Clinis in February 2006 as the groomer which I trained for in 2005 in Alhaurin el Grande. Now I work the reception in the morning and grooming in the afternoon. Amanda Clancy receptionist Hey, I´m Amanda Clancy. I am from Toronto, Canada. I graduated from the University of Waterloo, Ontario with a bachelor of Arts and specialization in Fine and performing Arts. One of my passions however, has always been with animals and so I have always surrounded myself with them. Whether it be trough fostering, volunteering for human societies, vet clubs, looking after other pets or taking care of our own horses, goats, rabbits, chickens and dogs in Canada. Here in Spain I have only my 3 fish: Chinchulin, Juice and Mietie. I have been working at the Pointer Clinic since February 2006 and I have been in Spain for 3 years. When I am not at the clinic you´ll find me playing guitar or enjoying the sun. | ||
